Candystripe/Diagonal Friendship Bracelet Tutorial

In my opinion, this probably the easiest friendship bracelet to make. If you've never made a bracelet before, this is the best one to start with. It only takes one type of knot; it just repeats itself over and over.

This post says almost the exact same thing, but if you need to see it in action then the video will definitely help you to understand it.

Supplies:
  • a clipboard/something to hold the thread in place
  • 8 individual pieces of thread, cut to a little more than a yard in length
Steps:
  1. Starting from left to right, arrange the colors in the order that you want your stripes to go.
  2. Tie the threads together about 4/5 inches from the end (this is what you will use to tie it on your wrist).
  3. Lay out the threads flat, so that you can see each individual thread.
  4. Take the thread farthest left and knot it over the thread to its right. Make 2 knots on the same thread before moving on to the next one.
  5. Still using the original farthest left thread, make 2 knots on the next thread to the right.
  6. Continue this until you have knotted over the 7 threads.
  7. Take the thread that has become the farthest left, and repeat steps 4-6.
  8. Repeat step 7 until your bracelet becomes your desired length.
  9. Tie a knot like you did in step 2 at the end of your bracelet.
That's it! Now just tie it on your wrist or give it to a friend. :)
